James Judge wins Tampa Republican Primary Poll in Landslide with 77 percent of votes

The Republican favorite in Florida’s 14th Congressional District primary, James Judge, dominated his two primary opponents in an online poll conducted by the Tampa Bay Young Republicans last week.

TAMPA, Fla. – James Judge won the Tampa Bay Young Republicans primary poll with nearly 77 percent of the votes cast, the Judge campaign said Monday. The poll was conducted among more than 400 members of the Tampa Bay Young Republicans, who are aged 18-40 and will likely vote in the Aug. 23 primary election.

Judge raked in 76.79% of the vote, compared to a combined 23.22% between his two primary opponents who are also on the ballot. One of those opponents, Jerry Torres, was recently found to be disqualified by a Tallahassee Judge, though his name will still appear on the ballots as they had already been printed.

The poll also showed Republican State House Candidate for District 65, Jake Hoffman, winning his primary in a landslide. Hoffman earned 84.51% of the vote.

In Florida State House District 65, Republican Danny Alvarez had a commanding lead over his primary opponent. He received 81.82 percent of the vote.

“I am humbled and honored to see our hard work on the campaign trail paying off in polls like this. The Tampa Bay Young Republicans’ poll reflects the momentum we’ve gained headed into the primary election, and I am so very grateful to all of those volunteering and helping with my campaign,” said Judge. “I genuinely appreciate the strong showing of support among the Tampa Bay Young Republicans and all my future constituents in the district. I’d also like to thank the TBYR for conducting the poll.”

Judge has long been described as the “frontrunner” in the primary election, and the TBYR poll confirms that descriptor.

As Judge engages with the community, meets more voters, and obtains more endorsements, his campaign continues to pick up steam.

Judge recently earned the recommendation of the Tampa Bay Times, and has been endorsed by legendary Republican strategist Roger Stone, Congressman Paul Gosar (R-AZ), retired Republican Congressman Ted Yoho, The Tampa Police Benevolent Association, Clearwater Mayor Frank Hibbard, the Community Patriots Tampa, Chris Chambers, a former Congressional candidate and community leader, and former SBA White House Deputy Chief Matt Becker, who previously ran for Congress against an incumbent Democrat in St. Petersburg.

Judge also plans on announcing more high-profile endorsements later this week.
