Republican favorite in Florida’s 14th Congressional District primary race, James Judge, has earned the endorsement of the Pinellas County Sheriff
TAMPA, Fla. – The Republican Primary frontrunner in Florida’s 14th Congressional District James Judge has earned the endorsement of Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri, the Judge campaign announced Monday.
Gualtieri’s endorsement is the second major law enforcement endorsement Judge has received, after being endorsed by the Tampa Police Benevolent Association in June. A major focal point of Judge’s campaign has been backing law enforcement, as congressional Democrats sponsored legislation to defund the police and make enforcing laws more difficult.
“I’ve met with James, seen him engaging with the community and respect his strong support for protecting our brave law enforcement officers,” Gualtieri said. “It’s a challenging time to be a member of the law enforcement community, and Democrat sponsored legislation has without question made our communities less safe. I’m confident James will do what he can to help put an end to bad laws that hamper effective policing. He has my complete support in his race to be the next Congressman for Florida’s 14th Congressional district.”
Judge humbly accepted the endorsement.
“I’m beyond grateful for Sheriff Gualtieri’s support, and the support of our brave men and women who put on the uniform every day to selflessly serve others,” said Judge. “One of the reasons I entered this race was because I have been disgusted by the utter disrespect for our police and the rule of law coming from the political left. They burned down cities over the death of a felon – who then received a nationally televised funeral – and Democrats responded by saying we need less police. It was beyond disgraceful.”
“Kathy Castor has outwardly expressed her disdain for police,” said Judge. “She wants to make our city and the district less safe, and she demonizes those who bravely serve our community. I won’t stand for it. The answer is more support for our law enforcement officers, not less.”
Sheriff Gualtieri’s endorsement is another in a long line of endorsements earned by Judge.
Judge’s campaign continues to gain momentum while he meets with voters in the district and garners endorsements from local and national figures.
Judge recently earned the recommendation of the Tampa Bay Times, and has been endorsed by Congressman Paul Gosar (R-AZ), retired Republican Congressman Ted Yoho, The Tampa Police Benevolent Association, Clearwater Mayor Frank Hibbard, the Community Patriots Tampa, Chris Chambers, a former Congressional candidate and community leader, and former SBA White House Deputy Chief Matt Becker, who previously ran for Congress against an incumbent Democrat in St. Petersburg.
