Community leader endorses James Judge in FL-14 primary race

Republican favorite in Florida’s 14th Congressional District was endorsed by a former candidate in the race and pillar of the business community.

TAMPA, Fla. – Chris Chambers, a community leader and former opponent of James Judge in the race for Florida’s 14th Congressional District, has endorsed Judge, who is the frontrunner in the Republican primary, in his bid to unseat Democrat Kathy Castor.

“I met James when I served as President of the Tampa Propellor Club, and have the utmost respect for him,” said Chambers. “James and I bonded over our mutual service in the Coast Guard, and his business is a longtime member of the Propellor Club. He is a stand-up guy, a respected businessman, and has my total endorsement.”

Chambers was previously a candidate for the Republican primary in FL-14 but withdrew from the congressional race when his residence shifted to FL-16 once the congressional maps were finalized.

Chambers remains on the Executive Board of the Propellor Club. He also serves as a board member for R.I.S.E Tampa, Our Police Foundation, and serves as the Chair for Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce’s Military Advisory Committee. He is also Chris is also the 2019 recipient of the Tampa Bay Chamber’s Deanne Dewey Roberts Emerging Leader of the Year Award and a 2021 Honoree for the Tampa Bay Business Journal 40 under 40 award.

“I’m extremely grateful to have Chris’s support,” Judge said. “Chris is an outstanding member of the Tampa community and a great American who has proudly served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard for nearly 20 years. Local leaders like Chris are crucial to our community, and I’m looking forward to working with him to strengthen the Tampa Bay area and Florida’s 14th Congressional District when I’m elected to Congress.

Last week, Judge was also endorsed by the Tampa Bay Times, his hometown newspaper.

Previously, he was also endorsed by the Community Patriots Tampa, legendary political consultant Roger Stone, Congressman Paul Gosar (R-AZ), retired Republican Congressman Ted Yoho, The Tampa Police Benevolent Association, Clearwater Mayor Frank Hibbard and former SBA White House Deputy Chief Matt Becker, who previously ran for Congress against an incumbent Democrat in St. Petersburg. 

About James Judge:
Judge, who publicly announced his run for Congress earlier this year, is the only Tampa Bay area native running in the race, having been born in Clearwater, Florida. Judge graduated from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg and served in the U.S. Coast Guard in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Additionally, he served in Kabul, Afghanistan as a spokesman for the U.S. Department of Defense from 2010 until 2011. He now owns Judge Public Relations, a Tampa-based PR firm and marketing agency with clients worldwide.

Judge is married to his wife Danielle, who is also a small business owner in Hillsborough County. The Judges are avid animal lovers and together, they have four dogs, three cats, two horses and 10 chickens. Judge is a proud member of the NRA, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
