Election snafu, Florida Division of Elections violates state law, attempts to remove Congressional candidate from ballot after state’s mistake

After initially qualifying James Judge to run for Congress, the Florida Division of Elections is now attempting to remove him from the ballot, despite their own errors in processing his candidacy forms and after state officials violated the law.

TAMPA, Fla. – Attorneys for James Judge are working on a response to the state of Florida’s attempt to remove him from the ballot after he was the first Republican candidate to qualify in the race for Florida’s 14th Congressional District, Judge’s campaign announced Thursday.

The Tampa Police Benevolent Association’s endorsement for Judge, a U.S. Coast Guard and Iraq War veteran, was unanimously supported by the PAC, the executive board and the board of directors.

TAMPA, Fla. – The Tampa Police Benevolent Association’s leadership voted unanimously Tuesday afternoon to endorse James Judge for the U.S. House of Representatives in Florida’s 14th Congressional District, the campaign announced Wednesday.

James Judge formally files to run for Congress in Florida’s 14th Congressional District

TAMPA, Fla. – James Judge, a local businessman, U.S. Coast Guard veteran and Tampa Bay area native, formally filed to run for the U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday.

Judge, a Republican, submitted the appropriate notarized paperwork with the Florida Division of Elections and is following through on his promise to try to unseat Democrat incumbent Kathy Castor in Florida’s 14th Congressional District. Castor has held the seat since being elected in 2006.
