James Judge remains the frontrunner in Florida’s 14th Congressional District according to another straw poll conducted in Pinellas County.
TAMPA, Fla. – Republican frontrunner in Florida’s 14th Congressional District primary James Judge this week won yet another straw poll, this time conducted by the Pinellas County Young Republicans.
Judge won 60 percent of the primary vote, according to the poll. The primary election will be held Tuesday.
“I’m grateful for the outpouring of support and elated to see the results of the Pinellas County Young Republican Club’s straw poll. At this point, I am confident we will win the primary election on Tuesday,” Judge said. “I’d also like to thank the Pinellas County Young Republicans for conducting the poll. Young Republicans in Florida and nationwide are the lifeblood of our party, and we need to do more as a party to ensure we’re reaching young people.”
After Tuesday, Judge will face Democrat incumbent Kathy Castor in the general election, and says he is confident that he will win that election, too.
“Florida’s 14th Congressional District will be the only truly competitive race in November in the Tampa Bay area, and I plan to do everything in my power to ensure that we flip this seat from Blue to Red,” said Judge. “It is crucial that voters come together to defeat Kathy Castor, who, like the rest of the Democrats, is spending money that we don’t have, hurdling America towards hyperinflation and causing skyrocketing fuel and food prices. She is also anti-Constitution, and an anti-Second Amendment extremist who has made our community less safe through her anti-police rhetoric and actions like co-sponsoring legislation to defund police.”
Judge, who has led for most of the primary race, has won every straw poll conducted, including those conducted by the Tampa Bay Young Republicans, the Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce, and the Brandon Chamber of Commerce.
Judge recently earned the recommendation of the Tampa Bay Times, and has been endorsed by Congressman Paul Gosar (R-AZ), retired Republican Congressman Ted Yoho, Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri, The Tampa Police Benevolent Association, Clearwater Mayor Frank Hibbard, the Community Patriots Tampa, Chris Chambers, a former Congressional candidate and community leader, and former SBA White House Deputy Chief Matt Becker, who previously ran for Congress against an incumbent Democrat in St. Petersburg.
