Good morning,

While you slept last night, I went on a ride-along with Tampa Police Department’s men and women in uniform.

The squad I was embedded with seized two pistols and an AK-47 out of the hands of criminals. Additionally, they confiscated $3,000 in counterfeit currency and removed a significant amount of drugs off of the streets of Tampa.

Two suspects were arrested by the team I was with and booked into Orient Road Jail.

We also responded to a complaint of criminal mischief and two different reports of shots fired, finding fired shell-casings and bullets on the ground. It’s hard to believe, but according to the officers, that was a slow night.

Sadly, my opponent, Kathy Castor, co-sponsored legislation to defund police and has done what she can to make their jobs more difficult. When I get to Washington, I promise that I will have local law enforcement’s back. While I do believe we must balance the budget and we need less federal government, I will do absolutely everything I can to support our local men and women in law enforcement.

Not only do I support law enforcement, but law enforcement is supporting me by endorsing my campaign. I’m honored to say that I am endorsed by the Tampa Police Benevolent Association, and I am also endorsed by Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri.
