The Republican nominee in Florida’s 14th Congressional District is calling on his Democrat opponent to support American unity over Biden’s division.
TAMPA, Fla. – The Republican nominee for Congress in Florida’s 14th Congressional District says his opponent needs to immediately denounce last week’s speech by President Joe Biden, wherein he labeled all Trump supporters as extremists who are a threat to the very existence of the country.
“Kathy Castor and the far-left Democrats who are celebrating Biden’s dark, divisive speech are taking us down a gravely dangerous path,” said Judge. “There are 74 million Americans who voted for President Trump in 2022. Labeling half the voting populous as ‘extremists’ as a threat to the very country itself is a dangerous escalation unlike anything we’ve seen in modern history.”
Judge believes that Americans of all political persuasions must find common ground, or risk disastrous consequences.
“Kathy Castor openly celebrated Biden’s speech and is promoting deep political division, while trying to pretend that she is a moderate,” said Judge. “Any person with common sense – including some Democrats who have already denounced Biden’s speech – can see that the speech was a display of far-left extremism meant to normalize hatred and violence against those with conservative political views. My opponent must immediately denounce Biden’s speech, or risk being complicit in this dangerous new political paradigm.”
Judge warned that Biden’s current rhetoric is egregious and completely irresponsible for a president of the United States.
“Biden spent Thursday night making ‘MAGA Republicans’ out to be the greatest existential threat to America,” said Judge. “The American government has a long history of violently eliminating its greatest threats, most recently groups like ISIS and Al Qaeda. Are we supposed to believe that normal, patriotic Americans who voted for President Trump are on the same moral plane as terrorist groups with whom we have been at war for decades? I certainly hope not, and Kathy Castor ought to ensure the American people and those of us in FL-14 that that this is not what she believes.”
Judge won his Aug. 23 primary election by 24 points, despite being outspent 10 to one by his closest competitor.
He recently earned the recommendation of the Tampa Bay Times and has been endorsed by several high-profile local and national figures.
Those figures include Congressman Paul Gosar (R-AZ), retired Republican Congressman Ted Yoho, Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri, The Tampa Police Benevolent Association, Clearwater Mayor Frank Hibbard, the Community Patriots Tampa, Chris Chambers, a former Congressional candidate and community leader, and former SBA White House Deputy Chief Matt Becker, who previously ran for Congress against an incumbent Democrat in St. Petersburg.
